There are lots of opportunities to enter competitions and win things online. These competitions will need to collect some personal information about you, and may even ask you to pay to enter them.
Some criminals create fake competitions to trick people into entering and giving away their personal information. If you have ever received a message that you have won a competition you don’t remember entering, then it is likely to be a trick. If it looks or sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!
Always ask a trusted adult before entering a competition – they may need to give their information rather than yours, and they can also check that the competition is genuine.
